"New for 2003" - Boat in a Box (BiaB)

In the year 2002, Global Marine Design Pty Ltd, introduced the Boat in a Box. This has taken the level of the Marine Kits package from a metal and windows package, to the level of a COMPLETE boat with all components. In October 2002, we supplied our first Boat in a Box to a Thailand client. This allowed the client a ‘One Stop Shop’ for the procurement of their new vessel. For GMD to prepare and quote a BiaB package, takes in excess of 100 man hours, involving the liaison with no less than 30 suppliers worldwide. As a result of this, a BiaB package is only offered as an optional extra, to customers who have ordered the basic Marine Kits package. Once we have your order for the Marine Kits pack [Aluminum, Windows and Doors], then we are prepared to offer you the option of a BiaB pack with accompanying specification.

What are the Benefits

What this means for either the individual boat buyer or a shipyard, is that they minimize the number of parties involved in the project. The responsibility for the procurement for the complete vessel components is given to the team at Global Marine Design, your “One Stop Shop”. This further improves the compatibility of all equipment and systems on board the finished vessel.
